Whiteabbey Presbyterian Church
Whiteabbey is a Congregation within the Presbyterian Church in Ireland - a local church family of just under 1,000 individuals, made up of ordinary people of all ages and backgrounds. Like those who began to worship here in 1833 and in every generation since, we are deeply convinced by the Biblical truths about the Lord Jesus Christ, and lives being changed and shaped by having met Him in a personal way and in following Him as God.
We each have our own story of faith and want to figure out together how to live out our faith relevantly in the twenty-first century. Jesus has done so much for us that we want to share this with the world around us in a way that is both faithful to unchanging Christian truth and yet also relevant to an ever-changing world.
We meet together for worship each Sunday, with our main Service at 11.00am in the morning and a more reflective evening Service at 6.30pm. Our Services aim to be a blend of all that is best in traditional and contemporary praise, and have a strong emphasis on the reading and teaching of the Bible - God's Word.
During the week there is a whole host of activities held on our premises. Core to our congregational life is being and making disciples (followers) of Jesus; a network of small groups helps us to do this. Those who live in our area, or who are visiting for a time, will be very welcome to join us either on a Sunday or at any of our other weekly events. We are not perfect; we are a work in progress, but we hope that if you share these core convictions and experience of faith you would consider joining us in our desire to love Christ and to make Him known.
